Self-archiving policy
Revista Argentina de Medicina has a self-archiving policy that grants authors the freedom to archive the version submitted, accepted and published in institutional repositories, without embargo period. Authors must acknowledge their first publication in Revista Argentina de Medicina.
Plagiarism Detection
Each manuscript is checked for plagiarism. Google Academics online services; Quetext and/or Grammarly's plagiarism checker and COPE (Committee on Publications Ethics) algorithm, flow charts are used to decide on manuscripts suspected of plagiarism.
Duplicate and prior publication
Duplicate publication is the publication of an article that substantially overlaps with one already published, without clear and visible reference to the prior publication. Prior publication may include disclosure of information to the public domain. When authors submit an article for publication in RAM whose content has already been published in large part or is closely related to another article, which has been submitted or accepted for publication elsewhere, the cover letter should clearly state this, and even the authors should provide copies of the related material.
Acceptable secondary publication
Secondary publication of already published material may be justifiable when disseminating important information to the widest possible audience (e.g., guidelines produced by government agencies and professional associations in the same or a different language), with appropriate clarification of origin. The journal may also consider for publication a full report following a preliminary report, a letter, a pre-print server without peer review, or an abstract published in the proceedings of a scientific meeting. Authors should inform the journal about these previous publications in their cover letter. For overlapping publications, follow the guidelines given in ICMJE (International Committee of Medical Journal Editors), section III.D, p 9.
Data availability policy
Revista Argentina de Medicina (RAM) promotes transparency and reproducibility of published research so that other researchers can replicate the studies described in their articles, either to corroborate or refute the results obtained, in accordance with the provisions of National Law 26.899 on Open Access Institutional Digital Repositories.
In order to favor the reproducibility of the results, the journal requires that the authors make available, without restrictions, the data sets with which they have carried out the research described in their article. In case of ethical or legal limitations, authors should indicate how other researchers should access the data.
Authors are encouraged to deposit data in any research data repository (such as FigShare, Mendeley Data or Zenodo) prior to submitting their contribution to the journal. Thus, when submitting the article, only the URL where the research data can be found should be indicated.
Authors are requested to use formats that maximize the accessibility and reusability of the data (for example, in case of using tabular data, it is suggested to use a spreadsheet). If necessary, it is recommended to publish, together with the data, the algorithms or pipelines that should be performed on the data for their correct interpretation.
Digital Preservation Policy
Open Journal Systems supports the LOCKSS (Lots of Copies Keep Stuff Safe) system that guarantees to all metadata of the articles a permanent and secure archive. LOCKSS is an open source program developed by the Stanford University Library, which allows libraries to preserve selected web journals by regularly searching registered journals to collect new published content and archive it. Each archive is continuously validated against records from other libraries, so any damaged or lost content can be restored using those records or the journal itself. The magazine's LOCKSS publication manifesto is available here.
Revista Argentina de Medicina accesses this preservation service thanks to the PKP PN program available for journals using OJS.
The journal carries out an incremental backup policy every 24 hours provided by Paideia Studio servers using JetBackup 5.
The journal also uses the persistent DOI (Digital Object Identifier), which guarantees permanent access to all articles. As well as the ORCID identifier, which distinguishes authors from other researchers, facilitating their recognition in the contributions.
Journal policy on authorship and contribution
Papers submitted to Revista Argentina de Medicina should be signed by all those persons who have made a substantial contribution to the manuscript. That is, they have contributed significantly in the conception and design of the study, in the analysis and interpretation of its data and have participated in the writing or final revision of the manuscript. We recommend the use of the CRediT Taxonomy (Contributor Roles Taxonomy) established by CASRAI.

Revista Argentina de Medicina is committed to guarantee transparency and fairness in its editorial process. Therefore, it will assist and resolve arguments or appeals related to non-compliance with any of the practices involving authors, reviewers and editorial team, before, during or after publication.
